Recommendations for class progression for early childhood dance classes ages 3-7:
All uniforms for the 2016-2017 school year are conveniently available for purchase at Discount Dance Supply and listed by class. To view and make orders click here and select on the top left “Students/Find My Teacher” and enter “Teacher ID TP46944”. Scroll down under the map and you will find the school. Ages 3-5 (Students must be 3 at start date and potty trained) Designed for the young dancer, this class develops gross motor skills, coordination, and movement imagination to boys and girls while introducing basic dance skills in a fun environment. Students expand their creativity by utilizing props, song and dance. Students begin exploring pre-ballet concepts, coordination and French terminology.
Attire: Girls- Balera Pink Camisole leotard with matching skirt, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, hair and bangs secured back into ponytail. Boys- white t-shirt and black cotton shorts, black ballet shoes.
Pre-Ballet and Tap Combination
Ages 3-5 (Students must be 3 years old at start date and potty trained) Students explore ballet, tap, creative movement, and song and dance concepts in a structured but fun environment by learning French terminology, technique and movements appropriate for the young dancer.
Attire: Girls-lavendar camisole leotard with matching skirt from Discount Dance Supply (item #N5500C & TH5513C), pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes, hair and bangs secured back in ponytail. Boys- white t-shirt and black cotton shorts, black ballet shoes, black tap shoes.
Ballet – Level I and II
Students learn classical ballet techniques through barre exercises, center work, allegro, progressions, and choreography in a structured and fun environment. Props are utilized to help students discover the importance of good posture and balance. Basic Kinesiology topics are covered and discussed.
Attire: Level I/II – Black camisole leotard with matching skirt, pink tights, leather ballet shoes, hair in bun with long bangs secured back. Short hair must be secured with a headband. Boys: White tshirt, black long shorts or sweat pants, black ballet shoes.
Jazz and Tap Combination – Level I and II
Students progress through learning basic, high-energy jazz and tap technique with fun, age appropriate music! Warm ups, progressions and routines. Students participating in Level II must have completed Level I at CPAS or by evaluation by instructor.
Attire: Level I/II – Black camisole leotard, black jazz pants, black jazz shoes with no laces, black tap shoes, hair secured back in ponytail. Boys: White tshirt, black long shorts or sweat pants, black ballet shoes.
